Standing Liberty Quarter Dollars

Lot Photo Description Realized
Lot 826
1917 Liberty Standing Quarter Dollar. Type 1. NGC graded MS-65 Full Head. A one-in-a-thousand example of this lovely P-mint issue, with abundant luster that shimmers over Gem quality surfaces. A touch of weakness is often seen at the head and shield on many of this issue (especially branch mints), but here it is probably that the dies were spaced at the right distance apart to insure strong metal flow into all areas. The designs are very strong for the date.
Estimated Value $1,100 - 1,150.

Notice the sharp head details, the full rivets on the shield, the way the eagle's plumage shows in its entirety. Pop 178; 90 finer.
